Poland prepares for milk shortage due to energy crisis

Representatives of the Association of Polish Milk Processors appealed to the government with a request to provide support to dairy producers in connection with the upcoming shortage of milk due to the energy crisis.

“Businesses are receiving letters from energy and gas suppliers that plan to introduce plans to limit the consumption of these utilities to levels that do not allow them to support the production, storage and even operation of on-site treatment facilities,” the letter said.

The appeal notes that just two or three days of problems with energy supply can cause a real disaster, since milk processing cannot be postponed for such a period.
