Scholz: enough gas infrastructure will be created in Germany

Germany will have enough infrastructure to provide gas by mid-2023, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on August 12 during a visit to Potsdam.

According to him, LNG terminals will be built in Germany along the north German coast, and pipelines will be built at great speed to import gas not only from Norway, the Netherlands and Western European ports in the Netherlands, Belgium and France, but also from pipeline from Britain.

“We are trying to increase the capacities that have already been created so that sometime during the next year we will have enough infrastructure to, albeit possibly at higher prices, provide supplies,” he said.
