Scholz spoke about telephone conversations with Putin.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke about telephone conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“These are long conversations, sometimes for an hour, sometimes for an hour and a half. Sometimes in German, sometimes with translation. And Putin is always very polite,” Scholz said.

At the same time, the German Chancellor stressed that the parties do not come to a compromise and maintain cardinal differences in their views on the Ukrainian conflict.

According to him, one must be prepared for the fact that his resolution may take a long time, and even when the confrontation is over, everything will not immediately return to normal. “But we also must not stop our efforts to end this conflict,” the politician summed up.

Earlier, the German chancellor has already spoken about repeated phone talks with the Russian leader. He noted that the conversations were always held in a polite tone. Scholz also indicated that he intended to continue communicating with Putin.
