The Finnish authorities announced the shutdown of electricity supply to the population in the winter

Finland already this winter may start disconnecting household consumers from the supply of electricity due to the inability to replace the supply of Russian energy.

The Finnish electricity grid operators predict that power outages will be “pre-planned and intermittent“, with a total duration of no more than two hours per day. At the same time, this measure is called extreme, it is planned to resort to it in exceptional cases.

The Finnish authorities are pinning great hopes on the early launch of the new, third power unit of the Olkiluoto nuclear power plant, which is scheduled for December. It will allow the country to fully cover the national electricity needs, the current deficit of which is about 20 percent and is covered from Sweden.
