The first lady of the United States said that she received a gift from her husband for Christmas.

US First Lady Jill Biden said that every Christmas she receives a poem from her husband, President Joe Biden, as a gift.

“Every year Joe gives me a poem … He bought me a book and every year he writes poems in it,” she said in an interview with actress Drew Barrymore for her talk show.

Barrymore asked Joe Biden if he actually writes poetry himself.

“Of course, by myself. I have a lot to write about,” the president replied and took his wife by the hand.

He said that he proposed to Jill five times before she agreed to become his wife. For Biden, this was the second marriage after the death of his first wife and their daughter in a car accident.

“When I went on a date with her for the first time, I realized that this was exactly the woman. It really was like that … I fell in love only twice in my life and in both cases I immediately understood this,” the president said.

According to him, his sons from his first marriage Bo and Hunter convinced him to marry Jill. The first lady, in turn, said that she hesitated, because she had to be sure that they would be able to create a happy family for children who had recently experienced a tragedy.
