The head of the Romanian Foreign Ministry refused to comment on the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu declined to comment on information about the supply of weapons to Ukraine, explaining this by government policy.

Earlier, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, General of the Army Valery Gerasimov, said that the United States, Great Britain, Poland and Romania make the largest contribution to the supply of military assistance to Kyiv. At the same time, Romanian Minister of Economy Florin Spataru assures that at the moment there are no contracts for the supply of equipment or supplies to the Ukrainian authorities.

“This is the policy of our government, it seems to us that it is more effective this way. What is really important is that NATO and its allies can effectively help Ukraine. And we think that this is better for Ukraine. I do not comment on this topic,” Aurescu told reporters in response to a request to explain why Bucharest does not speak publicly about the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

He added that after the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, “much will become known.”
