The Iranian Foreign Ministry said that Tehran seeks to promote peace in Ukraine.

Iran is doing its best to promote the establishment of a ceasefire in Ukraine, as well as focusing the attention of the parties to the conflict on achieving peace, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said at the First International Congress of Successful Women.

“In the Ukrainian conflict, the Islamic Republic is striving with all its might – at the level of the president and foreign ministers – to establish a ceasefire and focus the attention of the parties to the conflict on achieving peace. We are strongly against the conflict,” Abdollahian said.

The day before, the Iranian Foreign Minister said that Tehran stands for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries within the framework of international law, therefore, despite excellent relations with Moscow, it does not recognize Crimea and four new regions as part of Russia.
