The Pentagon chief accused China of unwillingness to work on crisis situations.

The United States is concerned that China does not show a desire to work “more seriously” on improving mechanisms for resolving crisis situations with the participation of the military of the two countries, but hopes for quick changes in this matter, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said on Friday.

“I am deeply concerned that the PRC is unwilling to work more seriously on developing better crisis management mechanisms with the participation of the armed forces of our two countries,” Austin said, speaking to the participants of the Shangri-La Dialogue regional security forum, which kicked off in Singapore.

At the same time, he expressed hope that this situation “will change, and soon.”

The Shangri-La Dialogue Forum kicked off in Singapore on Friday and will run until June 4th.
