The UN called the adopted resolution on Gaza mandatory.

The UN Security Council resolution adopted on Monday demanding an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for the month of Ramadan is mandatory, Deputy Spokesperson of the UN Secretary General Farhan Haq said at a briefing.

Earlier, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said that Israel will not stop fighting in the Gaza Strip until all hostages are released.

“All UN Security Council resolutions are international law. And this resolution is (international law) like any other,” Haque said.

“So they are as binding as international law,” he explained.
