Ukraine will receive from the United States an improved version of the M1A2 Abrams tanks in export configuration, without a secret armor alloy.

On Wednesday, the United States announced the dispatch to Ukraine of a battalion complex – 31 units – of modern Abrams tanks of its own production. At the same time, Great Britain and Germany allocate their tanks to the Ukrainian military, which also allows their delivery to Kiev to other countries that have them.

According to the publication, US policy prohibits the export of Abrams tanks protected by armor based on depleted uranium. This alloy is considered secret and, if sold abroad, it is replaced with other armored structures.
