Laos and Cambodia are tightening their economic and cultural ties. The state visit of the Party General Secretary and President of Laos has started on Feb 9. The top Lao leader has arrived in Phnom Penh capital city on Sunday for his two-day visit, VietnamPlus reports.
Lao President has arrived in Phnom Penh capital city where he was warmly welcomed at the Royal Palace under the chair of King Norodom Sihamoni.
As the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said, the high-ranked Lao guest is scheduled to pay courtesy visits to President of the Senate Samdech Say Chhum, President of the National Assembly Samdech Heng Samrin and Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
Both Laos and Cambodia are working on strengthening the ties between the neighbouring countries. The current visit by Lao Party General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith will be another significant milestone to further strengthen the comprehensive and long-lasting strategic partnership.
As the foreign ministries said, the meeting of two national leaders will definitely promote good bonds of friendship, solidarity and cooperation in all fields between the two good neighbouring countries and their people, the Cambodian ministry said in a statement.
