US sends F-22 fighter jets to Poland to counter Russia

The US Air Force decided to send Boeing F-22 Raptor fighter jets to Poland to support the mission of the North Atlantic Alliance and contain the Russian Federation.

Six aircraft of the fifth generation F-22 Raptor from the 90th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, which are deployed in Alaska, have already arrived on the evening of July 26 at the British air base Lakenheath. As noted in the publication, on assignment, they will continue flying to the Polish 32nd tactical air base in Lask and complement the mission to deter “Russian aggression” on the eastern flank of the military-political bloc.


Earlier, Warsaw decided to buy 116 decommissioned Abrams tanks from the United States to replace the Russian T-72s transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The first deliveries of used Abrams should begin in early 2023, as part of military assistance to Kyiv, more than 240 modernized vehicles were sent.
