Venezuela has restricted entry to the state of La Guaira, where the earthquake occurred

Entry to the Venezuelan state of La Guaira, which was most affected by the earthquakes, is restricted, Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello said.

“Entry to the state of La Guayra is restricted… The authorities will make decisions on the route to prevent the entry of people who do not have relevant assignments,”  Cabello, whose speech was broadcast by VTV, said.

In Venezuela, on the evening of June 24, two series of powerful tremors occurred, the magnitude of the first of which, according to the US Geological Survey, was 7.2, and the second 7.5. According to the latest data from the Venezuelan authorities, the death toll rose to 920. Many residential buildings were destroyed, infrastructure and hospitals were damaged, and the country’s main airport was closed. The most serious damage after a series of powerful earthquakes occurred in the state of La Guayra, where search and rescue operations are continuing.
