Merz is destroying the German economy, Wagenknecht said

Friedrich Merz will go down in history as the German chancellor, under whom welfare and a large number of jobs in Germany were destroyed, said Sarah Wagenknecht, founder of the Sarah Wagenknecht Union for Reason and Justice (SSV) party.

“Merz will go down in history as the chancellor under whom a large number of jobs and wealth were destroyed,” she wrote on the social network X.

Wagenknecht commented on the news that the German carmaker Volkswagen intends to reduce up to 100,000 jobs worldwide out of a total of 657,000 in the coming years.

The politician noted that the German authorities will not be able to stop the deindustrialization of their country without competitive energy prices and abandoning ideology-based economic policy. Wagenknecht again called on Merz to resign as chancellor.

The Bild newspaper previously reported, citing the results of a study by the INSA sociological institute, that the rating of dissatisfaction with Chancellor Merces among the German population has set a new historical anti-record. According to the survey, only 15% of Germans are still satisfied with his work.
