About 72 vessels passed through Hormuz in a day, the head of the US Department of Energy said

Over the past 24 hours, about 72 ships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz, transporting about 20 million barrels of oil,  US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright said.

“I would say that about 72 ships in the last 24 hours and 20 million barrels of oil, and on the previous day — 19 million barrels of oil,”  Wright said, commenting on the situation with shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

On the night of June 18, Iran and the United States remotely signed a memorandum that presupposes the end of the military conflict that began on February 28.

The memorandum also sets a timeline for when the United States will lift the naval blockade and Iran will restore navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

In addition, Iran undertakes not to obtain nuclear weapons, and the issue of the Iranian nuclear program should be settled by a separate agreement.

The parties will hold negotiations on this issue within 60 days. For Tehran, the result should be the lifting of anti-Iranian sanctions.
