Penelope Cruz presents leukaemia research grant to hospital in Spain

Penelope Cruz presented the prize at La Paz Hospitalon in Madrid, her grand will help to researchers to understand new ways of treatment for childhood leukaemia.

The Hollywood star Penelope Cruz is also a generous person, being a and mother-of-two she is very responsive to the issue of health. That’s why she decided to help Madrid hospital with the grant, which is helping find a cure for childhood leukaemia.

Cruz’s foundation Uno entre cien mil gave the actress an opportunity to help the children. Last Friday, Penelope visited La Paz hospital where she delivered a €100,000 research scholarship to doctors working on a clinical trial for a cure to childhood leukaemia.

The 44-year-old brunette was also joined at the hospital by four young leukemia patients.

Penélope is a happily-married woman and a mother of two adorable kids, her desire to help other kids is highly appreciated by the doctors of  La Paz Hospitalon. During delivering her grant, Penelope was smiling and wishing the only best to the little patients who bravely fight with leukaemia.

On May 9, both Penelope and her husband Javier Bardem were attending 2018 Cannes Film Festival where they presented their latest film Everybody Knows directed by Asghar Farhadi.

“The fact that [Bardem and I] lean on each other and trust each other so much really helps,”

Penélope said to  Vanity Fair correspondent and added that the working together is just once in a while if it feels right.

“Because I really respect his opinion — obviously his is one of the most important opinions in my life,”

Penélope confessed.
