The British Queen has returned to work less than a week after she tested positive for COVID-19. As Buckingham Palace said, Elizabeth II attended her weekly conversation with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson Wednesday.
Despite the COVID-19 diagnosis, the 95-year-old monarch continued to work. While the sovereign was experiencing “mild cold-like symptoms”, Queen gave the virtual audiences.
The monarch is expecting to continue light duties at Windsor Castle in the coming days, according to the statement. Following her regularly scheduled meeting with the prime minister, the Queen has two virtual appointments scheduled for Thursday. However, it is still unclear if the two meetings will push through, IBTimes reports.
“She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines,” the palace added in the statement.
On the same day, the Queen signed off a congratulatory message to Team GB men’s and women’s curling teams following their success at the 2022 Beijing Winter Games.
The Queen made decision to vaccinate in January 2021, but there is no data regarding the next doses or boosters.
Both Prince Charles and Camilla are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. They received their booster shots in December 2021.
