“We are in constant contact with the relevant regulatory authorities and are not aware of any decision taken to place Gazprom Energy under state control,” the statement said.
Gazprom Energy indicated that parent company Gazprom Marketing & Trading Retail supplies gas to Gazprom Energy consumers from wholesale energy markets and is independent of gas supplies from Russia and has no contracts with Moscow.
“Our customers in the UK receive their gas in the same way as from any other supplier – through the national gas transmission network, which is owned, managed and operated by National Grid,” explained Gazprom Energy.
