The German regulator warned of a further increase in gas prices in Europe

Gas prices in Europe will rise after Gazprom’s decision not to supply fuel to Danish Orsted Salg and British Shell after they refused to pay under the proposed scheme with the opening of a ruble account. This was stated by the head of the German Federal Network Agency Klaus Müller in an interview with Der Tagesspiegel.

He explained the inevitable rise in prices by the fact that the amount of gas that is freely traded in Europe will gradually decrease against the backdrop of restrictions being introduced.

“If the screws continue to be tightened, even in small steps, gas will become even more expensive,” Muller said.

At the same time, he stressed that the situation is now stable and at the moment there is no risk of an immediate shutdown of Russian gas supplies to Germany, noting that it is impossible to make reliable forecasts in the current conditions.
