European expert called the grocery deal a lesson for the US and the EU

Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan strengthened his position and taught a lesson in diplomacy to his colleagues from Western countries, which resulted in the signing of documents on lifting restrictions on the supply of Russian products for export and on Russia’s assistance in the export of Ukrainian grain. This was stated on July 23 by professor at the Free University of Brussels (ULB) Samuel Furfari.

“Erdogan showed great diplomatic skills, very carefully leading both sides to separate negotiations in Istanbul with the help of the UN. The result is obvious. This is a lesson for the European Union and the United States, whose overly talkative approaches – think of Emmanuel Macron on military issues or Joe Biden in Saudi Arabia on energy issues – have not brought a noticeable result, ”Furfari said.

The professor believes that the signing of a food deal will ease tensions in world markets and avoid starvation in the Middle East and Africa.

Earlier in the day, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said Washington was pleased to welcome the Ukrainian grain export deal and hoped that all parties would act responsibly to implement the terms of the agreement. The Canadian Foreign Ministry also expressed hope for a speedy implementation of the product deal.
