Poland decided to double defense spending

In the emerging state budget for 2023, the Polish government planned to almost double defense spending. This was stated by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Mateusz Morawiecki.

“A far-reaching revolution is planned in our budget,” he outlined this process. This year, most likely, the national defense budget will be “at the level of 58 billion zlotys (almost $13 billion),” the prime minister said.

“For next year, we are planning about 98 billion zlotys in the budget ($21.7 billion),” Morawiecki announced. In addition to the funds pledged in the country’s budget itself, “from 30 to 40 billion zlotys” will be allocated for the regular army, which will be used to purchase weapons abroad.
