Russia’s Permanent Representative to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov, who is completing his mission in Brussels, predicted a tribunal against the Ukrainian authorities.

“There will be a tribunal for those who are really guilty of everything that happened. But not for the Russian leadership, but for the Kyiv regime,” the diplomat said.

So he commented on the statement of the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, who supported the idea of creating a tribunal for Russian citizens for actions in Ukraine. At the same time, he did not specify who, in his view, should go to trial, and did not comment on the war crimes of Ukraine itself.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, responding to Borrell’s statement, recommended that he pay attention to the crimes of the Kyiv regime, starting in 2014. He also added that because of his previous statements, the head of European diplomacy does not enjoy authority in Russia.

Some time ago, criticism was provoked by Borrell’s comment on Twitter about the events in Ukraine – “this war must be won on the battlefield.”
