The German Ministry of Defense decided to keep the motto of the military police of the German army “suum cuique”, translated from Latin meaning “to each his own”.

German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht rejected the demands of Felix Klein, the commissioner of the German government to combat anti-Semitism, to abandon the motto. The department said that she sees no reason for this.

“The choice of a star with the inscription suum cuique for the military police of the Bundeswehr means a conscious break with the military police of the Third Reich and, consequently, with National Socialism,” the German Defense Ministry said.

The department noted that this motto is a legal principle that has come down from antiquity, implying the provision of everyone with what he is entitled to. It also emphasizes the personal merit of those who wear this insignia, the ministry explained.

Earlier it became known about the deplorable state of the German army. It was reported that the army would not be able to be on alert if the German government did not allocate 75 billion euros annually.
