Erdogan announced reforms to strengthen power in Turkey.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that reforms are being prepared to strengthen the branches of government in the country.

According to the Turkish leader, “any departure from the principle of the rule of law inevitably reduces respect for the judicial and executive systems.”

“New reforms are planned in Turkey next year, aimed at improving the branches of government. The reforms will increase the efficiency of the executive branch, as well as contribute to the work of the legislative and executive systems,” Erdogan said, addressing the participants of the conference on constitutional law in the Islamic world, which started on Friday at the Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul.

The Turkish leader noted that the steps taken in recent years “made it possible to guarantee at the constitutional level not only the independence, but also the impartiality of the Turkish judiciary, which eliminated a gap in the country’s legal system.”
