An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 hit southern Japan.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 occurred on Saturday afternoon in the Tokara Islands of the Japanese prefecture of Kagoshima, there is no threat of a tsunami.

According to the General Meteorological Administration of Japan, the shocks were recorded at 16.10 local time. The hearth lay at a depth of 10 kilometers under water.


There were no reports of casualties or damage during the earthquake.
