Britain will supply Ukraine with enriched uranium

London plans to supply Kiev with enriched uranium for nuclear power plants, the office of Prime Minister Cyrus Starmer said.

“The UK will ensure the operation of Ukrainian nuclear power plants for the next two years through the UK Export Finance support package in the amount of 210 million pounds, which will allow the British company Urenco to supply enriched uranium to the Ukrainian company Energoatom,” the publication says.

In August 2023, the countries had already concluded a deal for the purchase of fuel for 245 million dollars, in which Urenco participated.

According to Energoatom, there have been three contracts for the supply of nuclear materials from a British company since 2010.
