FIFA will allocate one million dollars to victims of the earthquake in Venezuela

The International Football Federation (FIFA) will allocate one million US dollars from its humanitarian fund to support efforts to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake in Venezuela, according to the organization’s website.

The funds will be used for urgent humanitarian assistance to victims of natural disasters, assistance to human settlements, as well as support for emergency rescue operations.

At the end of June, Venezuela experienced two powerful earthquakes of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 with an interval of less than a minute. The tremors were felt in Caracas and several other regions of the country, causing numerous destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure. After the earthquakes, the authorities began a large-scale inspection of the technical condition of buildings and organized temporary accommodation for residents who had left their homes. As of July 10, the death toll rose to 3,889 people, and 16,891 people are in temporary shelters.
