For the first time, the US Air Force publicly announced the launch of an LRASM missile from a B-2 bomber

The US Air Force has publicly announced for the first time the launch of a long-range anti-ship missile (LRASM) from a B-2 strategic bomber as part of a recent exercise.

“The US Pacific Air Force successfully practiced sinking a target ship with a B-2 Spirit bomber north of the Mariana Islands,” the statement of the United States Pacific Air Force said.

It is noted that the bomber used the LRASM anti-ship missile.

“The launch of the LRASM missile from a B-2 Spirit bomber was an important step forward for the US Pacific Air Force in countering maritime threats,” the statement said.

The LRASM is a long-range, low-visibility anti-ship cruise missile designed to engage enemy vessels from a safe distance. Previously, the US Air Force had not reported on the possibility of launching this missile from a B-2 bomber.
