The Iranian Foreign Minister urged not to interfere in the situation in the Strait of Hormuz

In light of the mutual shelling with the United States, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi urged not to interfere in the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, saying that otherwise it could slow down the process of opening the route.

“Any kind of interference in this issue, any attempt to create a separate order (of navigation) will lead to a complication of the situation and delay the process of opening the Strait of Hormuz, as well as increase tensions,” Araqchi said during a press conference with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.

Iranian media on Sunday reported strikes on the Iranian island of Qeshm and in the area of the Iranian city of Sirik. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed an attack on multiple targets in Iran in response to Tehran’s alleged attack on a commercial vessel.

After that, the IRGC stated that the targets of its retaliatory strikes were the US air base in Kuwait and the US Navy base in Bahrain.
