The Iranian president confirmed the data on the unblocking of six billion dollars

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed the data on the unblocking of $ 6 billion held in Qatar, the amount will be transferred to Tehran.

The head of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdolnaser Hemmati, announced on June 23 that the United States would unlock $12 billion of frozen Iranian funds at the first stage.

“According to the implemented program, 6 of the 12 billion Iranian funds in Qatar will be unblocked and will be transferred to the country (Iran). As for the return of the remaining funds, work is currently underway on this,” Peseshkian said, quoted by his press service.

On the night of June 18, Iran and the United States remotely signed a memorandum that presupposes the end of the military conflict that began on February 28. The memorandum also sets a timeline for when the United States will lift the naval blockade and Iran will restore navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

In addition, Iran undertakes not to obtain nuclear weapons, and the issue of the Iranian nuclear program should be settled by a separate agreement.

The parties will hold negotiations on this issue within 60 days. For Tehran, the result should be the lifting of anti-Iranian sanctions.
