Germany plans to supply IRIS-T air defense system to Kyiv

After the start of the military operation in Ukraine on February 25, a sufficient number of weapons were supplied and financial assistance was allocated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. But, apparently, the West believes that this was not enough and decided to allocate IRIS-T air defense systems. This decision was made by the German government, Chancellor Olaf Scholz said at a speech in the Bundestag.

“In the coming weeks, we will deliver new weapons. For example, the government has decided that we will deliver the IRIS-T system, the most advanced air defense system that Germany has,” Scholz said.

The chancellor also announced the forthcoming deliveries of radar systems for artillery crews.
