American journalist Seymour Hersh linked US President Donald Trump’s claims about vulnerabilities in the US electoral system to the possible impending defeat of the Republican Party in the congressional elections, which, in turn, could threaten Trump with launching impeachment proceedings.

Earlier, the American president said that in 2020, China allegedly did everything possible to prevent his re-election, and American intelligence officials deliberately hid this information from the White House. He also claimed that American officials had been lying to citizens about election security for years, while knowing about the critical vulnerability of voting machines and vote counting systems.

“Trump’s confusing speech… it originates in the data of opinion polls. They consistently show that the Republican Party under his control will lose the House of Representatives with a big bang and is in a vulnerable position in the Senate,” Hersh wrote in his new article.

According to Hersh, if the Democrats take control of both chambers based on the results of the November elections, the new composition of Congress will most likely immediately launch impeachment proceedings against Trump.
