The regional elections in the UK were held last Thursday. Elections were held in 136 regions of England. According to the final results, the Labor Party lost almost 1,200 of the more than 2,200 seats previously occupied by representatives of the party in municipal councils. The main winner was the right-wing Reform UK party, gaining about 1,400 seats.

On Monday, Starmer admitted that the election results were “depressing” and took responsibility for the failure. At the same time, he made a keynote speech and stated that he was not going to resign from his post.
