The DPRK Foreign Ministry announced the closure of the issue of denuclearization of the country

The issue of denuclearization of the DPRK has been definitively and irrevocably closed both theoretically and practically,  a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK said, quoted by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

“The denuclearization of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is an issue that is both theoretically and practically completely closed and absolutely irreversible,” the statement said.

The DPRK Foreign Ministry stressed that the statements of the United States, Japan and South Korea on denuclearization, which have lost their relevance and practical feasibility, cannot have any impact on the DPRK’s status.

According to Pyongyang, the concept of denuclearization should primarily apply to the intentions of Japan and South Korea to acquire their own nuclear weapons, which, according to the statement, are entering an “extremely dangerous stage” with the support of the United States, as well as to the desire for a nuclear confrontation between NATO member countries participating in the mechanisms for the joint use of American nuclear weapons..
