The reason for the cancellation of the NATO visit to Germany revealed

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has canceled international travel due to an illness, an alliance spokesman said.

“The Secretary General will conduct his planned visit to Germany and Romania remotely, and not in person. He was diagnosed with shingles, which could be a consequence of COVID-19, he works from home,” said the representative of the alliance.

In the announcement of the event, German Chancellor Olf Scholz announced a briefing with Stoltenberg, which was distributed by his office on Thursday morning. It was supposed to take place in Berlin at 12:00 (13:00 Moscow time).

The program of the NATO Secretary General’s visit also included a meeting with German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht.
