The United States announced the creation of a “third” party.

The United States announced the creation of a “third” party.

Former members of the US Republican and Democratic parties announced the formation of a third party in the country, which should attract voters, alarmed by “America’s dysfunctional two-party system.”

The new party will be formed by the merger of three political forces: the Renew America Movement, the Forward Party, which was founded by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang, and the Serve America Movement.

“Dozens of former Republican and Democratic Party officials announced Wednesday the formation of a new national political third party to appeal to millions of voters who they say are dismayed by what they see as America’s dysfunctional two-party system,” the official statement said.

The new party, called Forward, will initially be co-chaired by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang and former New Jersey Gov. Christine Whitman, a former Republican.

This fall, party leaders, according to Reuters, will hold a series of events in two dozen US cities.

The modern two-party system consists of the Democratic and Republican parties, which have consistently won presidential elections since 1852 and have controlled Congress since 1856. In addition to the two leading parties in the United States, there are 38 more federal parties, not counting the regional ones, but they have practically no influence on politics.
