The United States will take care of Cuba, Trump said

US President Donald Trump said that the United States would “deal with” Cuba, without specifying the details of its plans.

“Well, this is an incompetent country. She has been like this for many years, and we will deal with one (country) before we move on to another,” the American leader said during an interview with journalist Cheryl Atkinson.

Trump confirmed that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio maintains contacts with Havana on behalf of the current American administration.

On January 29, Trump signed a decree allowing the imposition of duties on imports from countries supplying oil to Cuba, and also declared a state of emergency in connection with the alleged Cuban threat to US national security. The Cuban Government has stated that with the help of the energy blockade, the United States seeks to strangle Cuba’s economy and make the living conditions of its population unbearable.
