Narendra Modi welcomes Putin to India ahead of bilateral BRICS summit

Narendra Modi, Indian Prime Minister welcomes on Saturday President Putin. The Russian leader arrived in India for taking part in the bilateral summit and BRICS heads of states. The main meetings planned to be held in Goa.

Narendra Modi was pleased by the visit of Vladimir Putin. The Russian President is going to take part in the BRICS meetings. Mr Mori has greeted Putin on the Twitter, writing:

“India welcomes you, President Putin! Wishing you a fruitful visit. @KremlinRussia_E.”

According to the schedule of Mr Putin, on Saturday he is participating in an India-Russia bilateral meeting, later he will attend the BRICS Bilateral Summit, which planned to take place at a south Goa resort.

President Putin is aimed at the co-operation with the colleagues on BRICS bloc, the Russian leader is expected to sign important agreements on defence, pharmacy, and agriculture. Top bureaucrats from the Russian defence, energy, trade and industries ministries are accompanying Vladimir Putin on his voyage to India.

The MFA’s head spokesperson Vikas Swarup informed on the main topics of conversation between Modi and Putin, the leaders will discuss on a range of issues including defence, counter-terrorism.
