President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on economic response to the unfriendly actions of foreign states. The document was published on the official portal of legal information.

As it is written in the decree: “Federal state authorities, state authorities of the Russian Federation, other state bodies, local governments, organizations and individuals under the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation, by virtue of their activities, proceed from the fact that from the date of entry into force of this decree, special economic measures are applied to certain legal entities, individuals and organizations under their control.

Thus, the document prohibits making transactions and fulfilling obligations to foreign individuals and legal entities that have fallen under retaliatory sanctions, as well as exporting raw materials and products from the country in favor of such persons. The government is instructed to draw up a list of relevant persons within 10 days and establish criteria for determining transactions that fall under the ban. The document comes into force from the moment of publication and will be valid until the cancellation of special economic measures.
