Skydiver is the first person to jump and land without parachute

A two-minute freefall of Luke Aikins, an experienced skydiver from the USA, became a historical one. On Saturday, a 42-year-old skydiver became the first person to jump without a parachute and land in a net.

American Luke Aikins smashed the world record, on July 30, he jumped without the parachute and landed successfully on the center of the 100-by-100-foot net. Fantastic jump and unbelievable landing were aired by the Fox network for the TV special “Stride Gum Presents Heaven Sent.”

After landing, Aikins quickly climbed out the huge net and hugged his son Logan and wife, Monica. According to the Luke, the jump was incredible, he felt he was almost levitating.

The jubilant skydiver, who left the plane without the chute, said:

“This thing just happened! I can’t even get the words out of my mouth.”

Aikins thanked the crew members, with whom he prepared for the historical jump, during the training period Luke made 18,000 jumps. The most recent one became a historical one. By the way, Luke’s father and grandfather were skydivers, and his wife Monica jumped 2,000 times too — what an incredible family!
