In France, more than two thousand people died due to the heat wave that covered the country, the head of the Ministry of Health Stephanie Rist said.
⠀
“This morning, the ministry <…> will publish data on the number of deaths for the week from June 22 to 28, <…> which amounts to about 2,025 new deaths,” she said on TF1 TV channel.
⠀
According to her, this information is based on only 60% of all death certificates, so the total number may change. She also noted an increase in mortality among citizens over the age of 45.

The heat wave has affected a significant part of European countries. In France, the weather service has imposed the highest level of weather danger in 72 out of 96 departments. The temperature approached the 40 degree mark, and in some places even exceeded it. The situation is also particularly difficult in Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece.
