The NATO Secretary General said that Ukraine currently has no prospects of joining the alliance

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that Ukraine currently has no prospects of joining the North Atlantic Alliance.

“There is no unanimous support now, but it is necessary for a full-fledged entry. The United States, as well as Germany and other (NATO) member countries are against Ukraine’s entry, there are no prospects at the moment,” Rutte said in an interview with the German edition of Handelsblatt.

In May, former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen proposed that Ukraine join the alliance based on the model used in 1955 in the case of West Germany.
