Hundreds of residents of Tel Aviv on Thursday staged a protest march on the occasion of 1,000 days since the attack of the Palestinian Hamas movement on October 7, 2023.

A column chanting anti-government slogans is moving from one of the central railway stations to the so-called “hostage square” in the center of Tel Aviv.
⠀
Activists are waving flags, beating drums and demanding that the government create a state commission to investigate the failure to prevent that fateful attack for the country and the entire region.
⠀
Police and paramedics are on duty at the scene. Similar actions are taking place on Thursday in many Israeli cities.
⠀
On October 7, 2023, Israel was subjected to an unprecedented rocket attack from the Gaza Strip.
⠀
After that, fighters of the Palestinian Hamas movement entered the border areas, opening fire on military and civilians, and took more than 250 hostages, a third of whom could not be returned alive. According to the authorities, about 1,2 thousand people died in Israel on the day of the attack.
⠀
In the history of the Jewish people and Israel, this tragic day was recorded as the most massive one-time murder of Jews since the Holocaust, and reality was divided into before and after. The Hamas attack provoked an Israeli army ground operation in the Gaza Strip, as a result of which the Palestinian enclave has now been almost completely destroyed, and more than 70,000 Palestinians have died, according to the local health ministry. During these 1,000 days after the Palestinian attack, the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East only intensified and escalated into a regional confrontation between Israel and the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, the Yemeni Houthis and Iran.

Israeli society has still not recovered from the tragedy of October 7, and the Government has not formed a state commission to investigate the failure to prevent it.
