Netanyahu described how Graham flew into a rage shortly before his death

Benjamin Netanyahu said that Senator Lindsey Graham lost his temper during the last conversation with him, the Israeli prime minister said on Fox News.

According to Netanyahu, in a conversation with Graham, he said that Israel is capable of self-sufficiency, which he sharply disagreed with.

“He was furious. He said, “No way, you can’t do that,” the Israeli prime minister said.

According to Netanyahu, the senator did not agree that Israel could independently protect both its own and American interests. In this regard, he called the deceased senator an “extraordinary friend” of the Jewish state.

Earlier on Sunday, Graham’s office announced his death after a short illness. According to preliminary data, he died from complications of a cardiovascular disease.

On July 9th, the Republican turned 71 years old. Since 2003, he has been a senator from South Carolina. In January last year, he was appointed chairman of the budget committee of the upper house of Parliament.

Graham was known as one of Washington’s main hawks, who repeatedly called for increased pressure on Moscow. So, in 2018, he introduced a bill “On Protecting American Security from Kremlin Aggression,” prohibiting U.S. citizens from conducting transactions with Russian government debt and state-owned banks.
