Guterres: the resumption of hostilities between the United States and Iran threatens disaster

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has warned of catastrophic consequences if the US and Iran resume hostilities, his spokesman Stephane Dujarric said.

“The Secretary-General reiterates that a return to full–scale hostilities would have disastrous consequences for the peoples of the region, international peace and security, as well as the global economy,” Dujarric said.

Guterres also calls on the United States and Iran to exercise restraint and expresses concern over the escalation.
