The Iranian Foreign Minister acknowledged the presence of mines in the Strait of Hormuz

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi acknowledged the presence of mines in the Strait of Hormuz, saying that it was for this reason that ships wishing to pass through Hormuz should coordinate with Tehran.

“Ships wishing to pass through the Strait of Hormuz obviously have to coordinate with our military because of the mines and obstacles that exist. We will conduct them, as we have done with a number of Indian vessels. Safe navigation is our policy,” Araqchi said during a press conference.
