The US Permanent Representative to the UN has announced a substantial tranche to the organization’s budget

The United States will soon transfer the payment to the regular budget of the United Nations,  the country’s permanent representative to the organization Mike Waltz said.

The United Nations is experiencing a financial crisis amid non-payment of contributions by a number of countries, including the United States, the largest payer and also the largest debtor.

“We will have an additional substantial tranche soon,” Waltz said during a press briefing.

He did not specify the date or amount.

Waltz reported earlier on Thursday that the United States would allocate $1.8 billion to UN humanitarian projects.
