There are currently no drugs or vaccines for hantavirus, and the treatment consists of supportive therapy, the EU medical regulator said.

“Clinical treatment is based on supportive therapy and timely access to intensive care facilities. Currently, there are no approved antiviral drugs or vaccines against hantavirus,” the source said.

He added that the EMA is ready to support the development of medicines and vaccines for this disease.
