The Israeli army attacked more than 40 Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon during the day

Over the past 24 hours, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has attacked more than 40 military infrastructure facilities of the Shiite Hezbollah movement in southern Lebanon, the army’s press service reported on Wednesday.

“Over the past 24 hours, IDF forces have attacked more than 40 Hezbollah military infrastructure facilities in several areas of southern Lebanon,” the statement said.

It is noted that among the attacked targets were weapons depots and other facilities that were used by Hezbollah members.

The ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel has been in effect since April 16, but Israeli aircraft and artillery continue daily strikes on Lebanese territory. The Hezbollah movement responds with attacks on the Israeli military in the border area. The IDF regularly accuses Hezbollah of violating the ceasefire.

Negotiations between Lebanon and Israel at the ambassadorial level are scheduled to resume this week. Israel insists on including in the agenda the issue of disarmament of the Lebanese Shiite resistance and demilitarization of the southern regions of Lebanon bordering Israel.
