The United States should approach the Taiwan issue with extreme caution, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during talks with US President Donald Trump in Beijing.

The meeting of the leaders of the two countries took place on Thursday at the People’s Assembly House in Beijing as part of Trump’s state visit to China on May 13-15. The talks between the heads of the United States and China lasted more than two hours.

“The United States should approach the Taiwan issue with extreme caution,” Xinhua news agency quoted the Chinese leader as saying.
